Common questions

It missed something that was clearly in my fridge.

It reads a photo, so it works best with the door open, the light on, and the shelves roughly facing the camera. Things behind other things, or inside opaque tubs, generally can’t be read — those go into the “couldn’t make out” list rather than being guessed at. If something is listed there, it wasn’t ignored; the app just wasn’t confident enough to build a recipe on it.

It suggested a recipe using something I don’t have.

That shouldn’t happen in the “You have” list — tell us and include the photo if you can. Ingredients under “You’ll need” are meant to be things you don’t have; that list is the point of the app.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. On your iPhone open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → wdiet → Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.

I paid but the app still says I’m on the free plan.

Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore purchases, making sure you’re signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with. If that doesn’t fix it, email us — don’t buy it twice.

I want a refund.

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t issue them ourselves, but tell us what went wrong so we can fix it.

What happens to my photos?

They’re used to make your recipes and then discarded — we don’t store them. The privacy policy covers this in full.

Do I need an account?

No. There’s no sign-up, no password, and no email required to use the app.

Before you cook

wdiet reads a photo and can be wrong, so treat its ingredient lists as a starting point rather than a guarantee. Check what’s actually on the shelf before you shop, check dates before you cook, and use your own judgement about allergens — the app can’t see labels reliably and doesn’t know your allergies.
